Established in 1993, the Singapore Repertory Theatre Company has been a cornerstone of English language theatre in Asia. In 2024, it rebranded as Singapore Theatre Company (STC), retaining the unwavering passion that has defined it for over 30 years.
STC’s repertoire features original musicals like Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress and plays such as ART and Disgraced that continues to set the stage for exceptional experiences. In 1998, as the first Singaporean theatre company on Broadway with Golden Child, it earned three Tony nominations. STC’s mission remains — to enrich, engage, and entertain through high-calibre productions and learning programmes, collaborating with global talents.
With a history spanning three decades and marked by international collaborations with the likes of Royal Shakespeare Company and the UK’s National Theatre, the company stands as a cultural cornerstone. It champions impactful theatre, presenting successful seasons such as Shakespeare in the Park and earning recognition as a leading producer of children’s theatre with The Little Company.
The commitment extends beyond the stage with the newly launched Centre for Creative Learning, reaching thousands of students and reinforcing a dedication to talent development. Under the new name, the Singapore Theatre Company ventures into the next chapter, extending an invitation to all to join its ongoing journey of creativity, inspiration, and artistic excellence.
